Since our founding in 2001, Jane’s Due Process has helped thousands of young Texans access abortion, birth control, sexual health information, and pregnancy support. We’re celebrating 25 years of unapologetically fighting for Texas teens’ bodily autonomy in 2026, and we’re inviting you to celebrate with us.

Honoring Community Champion, Austin City Council Member Vanessa Fuentes
Austin Council Member Vanessa Fuentes has been a champion for progressive policy change, including championing the creation of 
funds in the Austin city budget to fund out-of-state travel for abortion for Austin residents in 2024. In 2024, we stood with Council Member Fuentes as she helped pass the Reproductive Rights are Human Rights resolution in Austin. Council Member Fuentes has pushed for policies supporting improved access to menstrual products, expanded parental leave, better access to healthy foods for underserved communities, and fighting the housing crisis, helping to create healthier communities for families to thrive. We honor Council Member Fuentes as a community champion for reproductive justice.

After 25 years as Jane’s Due Process, we’ve grown from an organization providing only judicial bypass for abortion access into a full-spectrum reproductive and sexual healthcare support organization for young Texans. It’s time for a new name that represents who we are now, and we’ll announce that new name at the event on October 10th.
About Our Master of Ceremonies
Brigitte Bandit is an Austin drag performer and political activist taking action in the face of anti-LGBTQ attacks in Texas. She created the weekly LegiSLAYtion and Liberation event at Oilcan Harry’s in 2025, providing political education and encouraging activism and engagement in Austin’s LGBTQ community. She rose to prominence fighting the Texas drag ban eventually passed in 2023. In 2025, Bandit worked with JDP on events engaging our community to opposed Proposition 15, a constitutional amendment that would make it easier for parents to control the healthcare options of other people’s children.
