Find a Pregnancy Clinic

Find A Clinic & Access To Birth Control

If are under 18 and are seeking a clinic where you do NOT need parental consent for birth control, you need to find a “Title X” clinic. To do so, use this map provided by the Women’s Health and Family Planning Association of TX.

If you are over 18 or can get a parent to go with you to get birth control, use this map to locate family planning clinics located near you.

Abortion Providers

(As of October 3, 2014)

Several clinics are in the process of applying for hospital admitting privileges required by the enforcement of HB2.  We will update this list as we learn more about which clinics will remain open.

This is a list of Texas abortion providers. Many of these clinics can also provide you with contraception. The list is organized  by city/metropolitan area.

If you are seeking abortion services, it is important that you only go to one of the clinics listed on our website to receive pre-abortion services (sonogram/ultrasound and pregnancy options counseling). YOU MUST RECEIVE THESE SERVICES AT THE SAME CLINIC WHERE YOU WILL GET YOUR ABORTION. If a clinic offers you a sonogram/ultrasound and pregnancy options counseling but does not offer abortion services, you will have to re-do these steps at a clinic that does offer abortion services.

Texas law requires you to get a sonogram/ultrasound and pregnancy options counseling prior to getting an abortion. Call one of these clinics immediately to make your appointment for your sonogram/ultrasound and pregnancy options counseling.

Please Note:
If you are more than 20 weeks pregnant, you can no longer legally have an abortion in Texas. In some other states, however, abortion after 20 weeks is legal. You can find more information about clinics that perform abortions after 20 weeks here.  If you find it more convenient to travel to New Mexico than to travel to one of the Texas cities with an abortion provider clinic, this clinic may be able to help you.

About Funding

Many clinics in Texas have money available to help you pay for the abortion if you cannot afford it yourself. Some clinics work with programs like the Lilith Fund, Texas Equal Access, or the National Abortion Federation. Other clinics like Planned Parenthood, have their own financial aid programs. For example, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is offering travel vouchers for patients who live more than 60 miles away.  Still other clinics give discounts if your family is on Medicaid or other government assistance program. When you call the clinic to make an appointment, ask whether they have financial assistance available.

National Funding

  • National Abortion Federation (NAF) Fund
    • The National Abortion Federation is the professional association of abortion providers in North America. Please call the NAF Hotline 1-800-772-9100 for more information on financial assistance and to see if you qualify.
  • The Planned Parenthood Reproductive Justice Fund
    • This fund (through Planned Parenthood) is a donor-supported resource that provides financial assistance to low-income women and teens who are seeking abortion care. Funding varies by state. The fund may be able to help you pay for your abortion and can sometimes help pay for contraception, including emergency contraception. The Justice Fund ensures that all women – no matter what their income or where they live – have access to safe, legal abortion services. Ask their staff about financial assistance that may be available to you.

Statewide Funding

  • Texas Equal Access (TEA) Fund
    • This fund recognizes that many women in North Texas who would choose abortion are unable to because of financial hardship, social pressure, or a lack of local providers. They are dedicated to helping women with a demonstrated need to pay for their abortions. You can call the Texas Equal Access Fund’s toll-free number at 1-888-854-4852 or email them at help@teafund.org for more information.
  • The Lilith Fund
    • The Lilith Fund for Reproductive Equity assists Texas women in exercising their fundamental right to abortion by removing barriers to access. For funding information, call the Lilith Fund Hotline toll-free at 1-877-659-4304 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday only between the hours of 7am and noon Central. If you need more money than the typical abortion assistance fund grant (usually between $50 and $125), you may want to ask the clinic if they can refer you to any other abortion assistance funds (local, state and nationwide) that can help you.
  • Fund Texas Choice
    • Fund Texas Choice provides practical support and information to help women access abortion in Texas. They offer funding for transportation and accommodations. If you need an abortion but live far from a clinic, Fund Texas Women may help with buying a bus ticket and offer free or significantly discounted overnight stays at some locations near abortion clinics. You can contact them through their website or by phone at 512-900-8908.

Things to Consider

  • Determine how far along you are in your pregnancy.
    • To get an estimate, count the number of weeks from the first day of your last normal menstrual period. Do not count an isolated day of spotting, which may occur at conception. The American Pregnancy Association also has an online calculator to determine an estimate.
  • You may want to call several clinics to find the best price.
    • Some clinics may not be able to help you if you are farther along in your pregnancy.
  • Call the local clinic of your choice to find out the cost of an abortion and set up an appointment.
    • A sonogram is required prior to going to court and meeting with a judge.
  • Determine how much money you have right now and all the possible ways you can acquire the amount needed.
    • Who can you borrow money from and how much? Please keep in mind that abortion assistance funds have very small budgets and must help many women. You will be responsible for most of the cost of your abortion.
  • The typical abortion assistance fund grant is between $50 and $125.
    • If you need more than this, you may want to ask the clinic or call the National Abortion Federation at 1-800-772-9100 for information about other abortion assistance funds (local, state and nationwide) that can help you.
