The GED (Generic Education Development test) is the official equivalent of a high school diploma, although it is less difficult to obtain. Rather than taking classes, the GED requires you to take one large test. Many colleges and employers may consider the GED less valuable than a regular high school diploma.
The GED will test you in five areas:
-Math
-Science
-Social studies
-Writing skills
-Interpreting literature and the arts
You must pass all sections to receive your GED. The test is available in English, Spanish, French, Braille, large-print, and audiocassette. You may take the test online.
