Position Summary
Jane’s Due Process (JDP) seeks a Direct Services Volunteer Coordinator to oversee our volunteer programs, manage daily hotline and textline operations, and cultivate partnerships with stakeholders in the abortion funds community. Under the supervision of the Direct Services Program Manager, the Coordinator will train and support volunteers, ensure seamless operation of direct service programs, and expand access to reproductive health resources for Texas teens.
This role requires a highly organized and adaptable person who can manage multiple program areas while maintaining strong relationships with volunteers and community partners.
This position requires occasional travel (15-20%) for conferences and events, as well as some evening and weekend availability for volunteer training and outreach efforts. JDP operates on a 32-hour work week, offers flexible hours, and provides comp time.
Core Responsibilities
- Volunteer Management

- Recruit, train, and support volunteers for hotline, textline, and reproductive health advocacy.
- Maintain and expand volunteer coverage for hotline and textline.
- Organize and facilitate regular volunteer training sessions.
- Provide ongoing coaching and advocacy support for volunteers.
- Coordinate virtual volunteer engagement activities, including webinars and community-building opportunities.
- Distribute a monthly electronic newsletter for JDP volunteers.
- Conduct bi-annual reviews of volunteer engagement and retention.

- Hotline/Textline Operations

- Oversee daily hotline and textline operations, ensuring accurate and timely responses to teens.
- Manage hotline and textline supervisors and track volunteer hours.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to hotline and textline operations.
- Maintain up-to-date referral information for contraceptive and abortion providers.
- Provide direct hotline/textline coverage when volunteer shifts are unfilled.

- Community Engagement & Partnerships

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with reproductive health organizations and partner networks.
- Represent JDP at community events, conferences, and advocacy spaces.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration to expand reproductive health access for Texas teens.
Qualifications
- Excels in relationship-building and has strong project management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and communicating progress to supervisors and stakeholders.
- Ability to provide 1-on-1 support to volunteers
- Preference will be given to candidates based in rural Texas, though this role is 100% remote. Candidate must reside in Texas
- Preference given to candidates with bilingual language skills in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of abortion healthcare, reproductive health, rights and justice issues. Preferably has at least 1+ years working in one of these areas
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary between $60,000 – $67,500 before taxes. Salary is commensurate with experience.
