After a year of searching, we have a big announcement to make:
Jane’s Due Process has officially named our new Executive Director, Lucie Arvallo!
Lucie Arvallo is the proud granddaughter of Mexican immigrants and has always called Austin, Texas home. She received her bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University and graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law. After graduation, Lucie joined If/When/How as a Reproductive Justice Legal Fellow, and most recently she served as Senior Policy Analyst at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, leading the immigrant access to health care and coverage portfolio. Lucie is also a board member for ARC-Southeast, an organization that provides funding and logistical support to ensure Southerners receive safe and compassionate reproductive care including abortion services. And she previously served as a board member and text line volunteer for Jane’s Due Process. In her free time, Lucie loves watching horror movies and spending quality time with her two pups and partner Julian.
A lot has changed at Jane’s Due Process in the past year. We’ve expanded our emergency contraception distribution program, launched our Sex Talks sex education program, and started helping Texas teens travel out of state for abortion care. We are guided by a vision for teens rooted in reproductive justice values. We are excited to have Lucie at the helm, keeping us true to our mission and bringing a bold vision for bodily autonomy for every young person in Texas.
