The 2023 Youth Content Squad is a pilot program aimed at empowering and supporting young individuals within Texas communities as they fight for reproductive rights. As part of this initiative, we are seeking passionate, creative, and dedicated young people aged 15-24 who are interested in reproductive rights and eager to leverage their content creation skills to advocate for change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating engaging content for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook to promote our programs and reproductive healthcare resources.
- Collaborating with the External Affairs Department to craft compelling copy for blog posts amplifying our programs and reproductive healthcare resources.
Program Details:
- This fellowship opportunity is expected to run from November 2023 – April 2024 with potential adjustments to accommodate academic/work schedules.
- You will be expected to attend initial training and then create 4 pieces of content throughout the fellowship. You will be paid $135 after successfully attending the training and $150 per piece of creative content you make for a total pay of up to $735.
Qualifications:
- Young person aged 15-24.
- You must live in Texas, but the position is fully remote
- You must have access to wifi, a computer and/or smartphone.
- Strong commitment to reproductive health, rights, justice, and racial equity.
- Personal familiarity with social media platforms, especially TikTok, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook.
- Comfortable being on camera and featured on our social media pages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva is preferred, but not required as you will be trained on how to use it.
- Interest in gaining experience in communications, and reproductive rights advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
