Program Manager, Youth Advocacy + Community Engagement

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Advocacy + Partnerships, the Community & Youth Engagement Manager at Jane’s Due Process (JDP) is responsible for centering young people in our advocacy work. They will engage in program design and implementation. They will represent JDP and work with other stakeholders on young people’s reproductive rights and access issues. This position will supervise no more than 1 coordinator or 1 intern and be required to travel 15-25% of the time for conferences and events. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization’s youth advocacy programs. 
    • This includes supporting our annual cohort of Youth Leaders with professional development and leadership opportunities. 
    • Create advocacy opportunities for teens around campaigns or legislative goals outside of the annual cohort. 
  • Lead community events to educate JDP supporters on our work and engage them to take action.
  • Present at conferences and events on young people’s reproductive rights. 
  • Represent the organization on working groups and at coalitions to ensure the representation of young people’s reproductive rights.

Qualifications

  • Excels in relationship-building and has strong project management skills. 
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and communicating progress to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to provide 1-on-1 support to young people ages 16-24, especially those who identify as people of color, LGBTQIA*, or may be experiencing economic or housing insecurity. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates based in Texas, though this role is 100% remote.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health, rights and justice issues. Preferably has at least 3+ years working in those or similar social justice movements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary between $70,000 – $75,000 before taxes. Salary is commensurate with experience.
