In February, we are partnering with Austin Bat Cave to host a journalism workshop for high school students on the topic of sex education in public schools.
In this workshop, students will work with local journalists, educators, and health experts to write personal essays and op-ed pieces about their vision for how a sex-ed curriculum could better meet the needs of young people in Texas. Youth participants will be joining us from local public schools as well as local nonprofits such as Out Youth.
This workshop is free. We will also be offering gas vouchers and bus passes for students who do not have transportation. Additionally, students who are concerned about their privacy can use a pseudonym for anything that is published at the workshop.

There is no deadline to apply to attend. However, the capacity for this workshop is 15 students.
